About
I've always had
dogs and I've always loved taking pictures.
When I was little we had a St. Bernard and a Golden Cocker Mix. The St. Bernard
was on the older side, but was very tolerant of my little self; the Golden
Cocker was a very sweet and smart dog. In 1984 we lost the St. Bernard from age
and we got our first Newfoundland. This was the start of the world of dog shows
for me: we drove all over the U.S. from show to show; my Mom would show the
Newfoundlands and I'd watch.
My Mom bred a few litters of Newfoundlands and in 1992 I got a Newfoundland
which was the son of a dog my Mom bred; his name was Max and he was to be my
first show dog. Unfortunately Max broke his elbow when he was 4 months old,
which caused a catch in his gait, effectively ending his show career.
In 1995 my life changed forever: I got my first Australian Shepherd named
Chester, which quickly got changed to Jesse. He was 11 months old and needed
socialization. Jesse passed away 8 days after his 13th birthday and my life with
him was always an interesting ride. He was an amazing dog in my parent’s booth
at dog shows; he was a constant loyal companion and he made me fall in love with
the breed.
I have four Aussies now, including Jesse's Niece "Dazzle", who is 13, a slightly
related girl named "Ripley", who is 6, and two silly 18 month old puppies: Sasha
and Graham. I enjoy showing in Conformation and will be competing with the
puppies in obedience, rally and stock.
I have always loved photography, but my love of dogs is what made me pick up a
camera in 2004 and start to shoot; I delight in being able to catch a moment in
time that shows just how amazing and beautiful everyone's dogs really are.
I'm at a dog show of some type almost every weekend and hope to see you at one
soon.
